In her debut album Προσβολή Δημοσίας Αιδούς (Insult of Public Modesty), Sissy Doutsiou presents an intense spoken-word record that is both fierce and vulnerable, unfolding a narrative of rebellion and stretching language to its boundaries. Rooted in this perspective, the design approaches her texts as a pulsing body, evoking poetry’s physicality. Credits and titles on the back-cover trace the artist’s silhouette, reflecting the cover artwork in a layered dialogue.
Inside, lyrics are placed in rigid columns symbolizing the constraints of bourgeois morality and typeset in an interwar-era Greek typeface reminiscent of archival records that once deemed expression indecent. Within these narrow grids, words manifest the struggle to breath — stretching to their limits, trembling, cracking, and breaking free. The labels feature a typographic monogram derived from the title’s initials (Π.Δ.Α.), distilling the album’s title into a unified mark that serves as an emblem of defiance.
